Thousands Upon Thousands Witnessed Foot Ball Games This Afternoon. MINNESOTA MEETS MICHIGAN Former Has Not Been Scored Against at All This Season. = y y * % x = y y y y y y y y ToDAY’s FOOTBALL SCORE y y Yale y y Harvard 0 y = = y = = = y y = * y * N y | New Haven, Nov. 19.-Neither Yale nor Harvard was able to score in this afternoons game that was expected to settle the football championship. the final score being Harvard 0, Yale 0. Harvard had the slight advantage in the first period but a bad tumble early in the second period put the Crimson on the defensive in that quarter. Wendall, who replaced Frothing. ham, did remarkable work for Harvard this quarter but brilliant run by Potter for Yale put the ball in 2S yards of Yales goal line. This was the closest either team had come to scoring. The third period was evenly and fiercely fought. In the fourth period, however, Harvard car ried the ball steadily toward goal and seemed sure of scoring until Corbett fumbled on the twelve yard line and Yale man fell on the ball. After that, Yale by brilliant plays, got the ball out of danger. New Haven, Nov 19.-The eyes of 10000 enthusiastic spectators will this afternoon be fixed on the Yale field where Yale and Harvard will strug. gle for the football championship OF the country. More would see the game if possible. Probably 100000 would jam their way into the field if they could secure seats, but they can not. Never has more interest been aroused in the game between Yale and Harvard. 1t was ideal football wealth er, crisp and bracing Every man of both teams is reported to be in the fttest possible condition for the contest, which it is expected will be a memorable one. Betting is Brisk. New Haven, Nov. 19-With the ar rival of crowds, betting became brisk. Harvard ruled the favorite but there is so much confidence in Yale rejuvenation, that the crimson odds were hammered from three to one, to three to two and five to four today The game is scheduled to begin at 2:15. The Line Up. New Haven, Nov. 19.-Yale’s back field today will be Howe, quarter field er left half; DAILY, right half; Kistler full back. For. Harvard, Wigglesworth will play quarter; Corbett left half; rockingham right half, and Leslie, full back. snappy Weather at Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor, Mich, Nov. 19.-Snappy weather was promised for this after noon when the football warriors, of Michigan and Minnesota will settle the matter of the western champion ship. Every seat around Ferry Field has been sold, and it is estimated that at least $1,000 will see the game. Min nesota outweighs Michigan an aver age of seven pounds to the man, but both teams have a swift, hard plung. ing back field men and modern foot ball with all it’s varieties of forward passes, and fake kicks is looked for Minnesota has not been scored on this year.
