Georgetown Now Looking Forward Virginia Game With Greater Degree Confidence GEORGETOWN FAVORITE OVER VIRGINIA TEAM Defeat of North Carolina Boosts Hopes of Blue and Gray to Highest POnt-Annapolis Is Represented by Team Strong on Defense Georgetown today mas all sails set for November u when the football classic of this section-the Virginia game-wiu be played at Georgetown Field The Carolina game yesterday removed all doubt as TO the proper ranking OF the present Georgetown team and if Captain Daley does not have a football tucked under his arm when he leaves the field two weeks hence many will be greatly disappointed. Thus far the development Of the squad has been gradual and unless a cog is slipped or the team becomes OVercOnndent ne cause OF past success, the Indications are that for the first time in nine years Georgetown will be the taVOrlte. When 10 is recalled that only once since relations were resumed five years ago has Georgetown crossed Virginia goal line, and the further fact that most of the victories by the Charlottesville eleven have been by safe scores, George town players must realize that they have a mighty battle on their hands. Dr. Lambeth and Charley Crawford, Of the Virginia coaching board, were at Georgetown Field yesterday, studying every move made by the Blue and Cray. Fortunately, however, Tor Georgetown, il was not necessary TO use any new plays, so if the team has dnAInlLlg radical III It’s ltlftl A’ill = ~ SAttl holds good for the Virginia game. The Virginia team has been brought along in grand shape by the corps OF coaches and instead OF attempting 10 pile up large scores, II has contented itself in getting all the practice in the small games. knowing that in George town il would be called upon to face worthy foe Despite the fact that Georgetown’s showing, from the viewpoint Of a numher Of scores made, is vastly better than Nirginia’s. GEORGETOWN TRIMS NORTH CAROLINA Washington, October 29-Georgetown university today triumphed over the University of North Carolina football team, the score being F to o. Though outweighed nearly ten pounds to the man, Georgetown’s light but faster backfield proved too much for the Southerners. Both teams resorted to the old style of football for ground gaining. Plumbing on both sides was frequent, North Caro- lima being the chief loser in this respect. The kicking of Walsh for Georgetown was the feature of the game.
