  YALE DEFEATS WESLEYAN. Bct IL was Close victoty-BIass ,04 Seriously Injured and may Not Play Again This season. Yale played her first game of foot ball of the season yesterday afternoon with Wesleyan and if it may be taken as any indicaton for the future the outlook is not very encouraging. Yale won, but it was the kind Of victory that in time leads to defeat, for one Of her most promising play ers, Bliss “a, was seriously injured, and probably will be seen on the field again this season. ss He collided while at tempting tackle and was thrown violent “. striking on the back Of his head and neck. For some time he lay unconscious and then went into convu1sions. He was taken to the city in a carriage and q physihis brother, Bliss ’93. The score at the end Of the game stood 8 to 0, but no points were made until the last few minutes of the game when two touch downs were made by McCluney. The game was of the simplest character, straight playing, with no attempts made on either side at any fancy moves. Wesleyan put up.a much stronger game than had been expected though none believed that there would be one Of the old time one sided scores. The attendance was about 800 and q number OF carriages were lined about the field.
