SUPERIOR WEIGHT BEATS GEORGETOWN PittSburg Eleven Greatly Outweighs Blue and Gray Team. FIELD TOO MUDDY FOR SPEEDY BACKS Team Being Royalty Entertained By AImuni During Their Stay In Pennsylvania City. PITTSBURG, Pa. Oct. 23-Georgetowns football team is today a thor oughIy tired and much battered collecton Of men following the struggle with the University of Pittsburg yesterday which was lost by II TO 0. II was one Of the hardest fought football games ever seen in this city and while Georgetown put up stub born resistance from the first KICKOFF to the final whistle. Pittsburg had the better OF the argument at every stage The game was stopped several times when Captain Daley held conferences with the officials and insisted upon a more strict Interpretation Of the rules. but he received no satisfaction, and the charge is being made today that tn Pittsburg players held on practically every rush and were unnecessarily rough BY many experts who have seen the team in action, the Pittsburg eleven is conceded to be one of the best In the country. The players are thoroughly experienced and are schooled In the most modern form Of play. GeorgetOwn’s linemen were unable TO stop their heavier opponents, and it was on only few occasions that the fast backfe!d was able TO get going. Despite the defeat the entertainment OF the Georgetown players by the Georgetown Club of PittsbUrg has been the most extensive ever afforded any Blue and Gray team on a trip from home.
