YALE VICTOR IN SPECTACULAR EXHIBITION PRINCETON DEFEATED TO TUNE OF SEVENTEEN TO 0 Michigan Wins Hard Fought Game From Pennsylvania; Navy Wins From Western Reserve, New Haven. Conn, Nov. i3.--~Today at Yale field $4,000 spectators wit messed perhaps the most spectacular exhibition of pure football of the up to-date type ever seen in game between the old rivals, Yale and Prince ton--Yale winning II to o. The game had intense climaxes. Yale, almost at the outset of play, using her old-fashioned pile e-driver tactics, took the ball steadily down the field only to be penalized when within striking distance of the goal, The two most interesting crises of the first half came with blocked punt of Mccormick mounted high behind the goal posts and the series of spectacular fumbles settled under u Princeton player. scoring a safety for Yale. and when soon after a second blocked punt fell also close to goal post of Princeton, who this time lost the ball to Lilley, Yale’s tackle, resulting in a Yale touchdown. The second half had its intense moments. one came when, after an exchange of punts and forward pass, Yale got within striking distance of the Princeton goal and took the ball over in series of plunges 1t looked like touchdown and the Yale bleachers broke loose, only to sub side into pathetic stiffness when the team was called back for off side plays 1t was in this mid-time of the second half that the Princeton’s cheerers were electrified by a series of brilliant runs by Sparks and II looked for n brief time as though tho tiger had caught its second wind. But field goal by Coy and am other touchdown FOR Yale. after a series of fierce massed plays. finally chilled Princeton’s hope.
