Seven desperate plays. five of which were by Richardson, who hit the line like a projectile, carried the ball across States goal line. Northcroft missed the goal. During the remainder of the half the Navy had a decided advantage. though States defense was strong. par ticularly at critical times. Hirschman was not the equal of Dalton as a punter, and this, with Lange’s running-back, kept the ball in the visitors territory, though their line and ends held just as we’ll as the Nays. In the second half, except just at the end. the play was also in the visitors territory. Lange’s so-Yard Run. However their spirited defense prevent ed a score even after the brilliant S0-yard run Of Lange had landed the ball on their 1O-yard line. Both sides were pen allied frequently for holding, but there was no deliberate foul work. The Navy had four chances for field goals. three attempts being Northcroft’s and one Lange’s. One of Northcroft’s was on fair catch of Lange’s and on the 45-yard lines 1t fell short. The others were from the lineup.
