Philadelphia, Oct. 27.-The University of Pennsylvania football team received a crushing defeat from the Car Isle Indians on Franklin field this afternoon by the score of “a to 6. Pennsylvania scored her touchdown, from which goal was kicked, eight min utes after the game was started. Car Isle scored two touchdowns, from which goals were kicked dropped a goal from the field from the, 45-yard line and scored on Pennsylvania for safety, all in the first half In the second half, about three min utes before the game ended, Luby al lowed punt to drop to the ground and On the rebound Exendine caught. it in midfeld, and after. a brilliant run scored the only touchdown of the half Mount Pleasant kicked goal. Never in the history of football at Pennsylvania did the quakers give such neither rush the ball from scrimmage nor did they execute the forward passes or quarterback kicks attempted. Their fumbling was positively the worst ever seen in this city. Not only | did they time. and time again drop punts, but what was worse, allowed the ball to fall to the ground until caught, giving the Indians many opportunities to gain the pigskin on their own kicks. The redskins were very apt in securing the ball on Pennsylvania blunders, and to their hawklike instinct in following the ball was due the large score, rather than their superior strength.
