PENN AGAIN TIES WITH LAFAYETTE Had Three Great Chances to Score But Backs Couldn’t Get Through. PHILADELPHIA, Pa. Nov. A year ago it was to G. The Red and Blue came the nearest to getting a score. for IN the first half It once marched sixty-three yards down the field and planted the bail on Lafaycites 2-yard line. Here a great stand by Lafayette. coupled with poor judgment on the part Of Pennsylvania IN Sc lecting her attack, enabled the EastOnians TO hold for downs. Pennsylvania later had TWO more opportunities 20 score, but failed TO take advantage OF them. Shake-Up Beneficial. The shake-up IN the Penn team worked finely. Lawrence, although playing his first game on a college team. ran the eleven with great spirit as quarterback and thereby won his position. Hollenback, who was moved from center 10 fulIback. was the sensation. He ran back kicks in fine style and also carried the ball well in line plunges. Dwyer Ia center and CASTOR at tackle, the other new men. put up a good game, and the Quakars are looking forward 10 the Michigan game next Saturday With more hope than they have had this season. Lafayette had the first opportunity 20 score and some thought that the visi- tors should have been allowed a safety. IT, -4H.v4g FEH. obs OF Lafayette, punted TO Lawrence Oh Penn 3 1o-yard line. Lost Opportunity. PENIS opportunity TO score came q few minutes later. Getting the ball on their own 40-yard line, the Quaker back field set TO work, and in ten plays car Tied the ball sixty-three yards 70 La fayette’s 2-yard line. Hoilenback. Greene. and FolweI, all took part IN the attack and Lafayette was totally unable 10 stop The plays. The forward pass was used time after time with Captain Greene carrying the ball HolIenback and FoIwell did most OF the line plunging. ana II was a slX-yaTd drive of FolweITs which placed the ball on Lafayotte’s 2-yard line. Greene tried 10 carry il over FOR q score. but was bad, and Lafayette quickly kicked ont Of danger The second half resolved itself into a punting duel in which Dietrich, OF Lafayette. had a slight advantage over Hollenbeck and Greene.
