  Y0ST’S TEAM FAILED TO SCORE TOUCHDOWN Ohio State Team Holds Michigan to Field Goal and Safety. Columbus, Oct. 20.-Michigan defeated Ohio State this afternoon in the last four minutes of play when John Garrels made a place kick from the field, scoring four points, and State was forced to a safety, scoring two more points just before the game was closed. Ohio State put up stubborn defense, and kept the wolverines from scoring on straight football. The game was played largely in Ohio territory. The Michigan backs were unable most of the time to make the required 10 yards, and Ohio was well coached to stop Gar rel 8 fake punts and trick end runs. The State goal was never in imminent danger from straight footba1- The 15-yard line was the nearest Mich gan got. Garrel twice tried a place kick in each half. The kick fell short once, went wide another time ana was blocked twice. The last time he tried for it-after twenty-six minutes Of the second half had been played-was from the 36-yard line at bad angle. The ball fell true and squarely over the middle Of the bar.
