  CADETS DEFEAT TUFTS. Sirty-Yord Ran by Carey Feature of Vest Point Game. West Point, n. Y. Sept. 3O-On the new gridiron to-day the Cadets defeated Tufts Col lege in the first game of the season by a score of Is to O. The visitors could do nothing with the army defence and only made two first downs throughout the game. The first score made by the army was spec tacular. Carey caught punt and ran sixty yards through the visiting team for touch down. Beavers kicking an easy goal. The weather was intensely warm and much time was taken out owing TO the exhaustion of the men Coach BoyeTs made many substitutions. but Hanlou and Wilhelm were the only men hurt each spraining an ankle In the second half the Tufts boys took a brace. and the army only scored single touchdown, this coming on A within striking distance Beavers failed at a try from the field.
