  SIMPSON FIGHTS BRAVELY 8 Holds Iowa University Team Down to 35 Points. Iowa City. Iowa, Nov. simpson college struggled bravely and, playing hard ball all the time, held Iowa down to 35 yesterday. The minor college eleven scored two on a fiuke safety. on their five-yard line. The visitors braced, forcing Iowa to prepare. to punt. Johnston passed the ball high over Jones’ head. Jones touched the pigskin, which rolled over goal line. This was Simpsons only chance to. make a score. IoWa’s line/was I’M. pregnable, and Simpson could not make end runs. Iowa, however, battered the colleg-ians’ line badly, long gains being made by Allen, Fred Buckley, MCGOWAN and Waters. End runs on straight plays and fake punts were made by Jones, Captain Coulthard and Griffith. Jones made one seventy-yard dash for touchdown. Giltedged tackling; by Mann and White Of Simpson stopped other long runs, avoiding sew, eral touchdowns. Roy Buckley and MCGOWAN tackled finely for Iowa. Aside from one poor pass, Johnston played great ball at center Captain Kennedy is Simpsons bright particular star.
