Alabama Rolls Over Vols For I’D Straight, 27–7 tossed a 2O-yard scoring pass to Nelson. Tennessee in losing its fourth game of the season, was reused by a fourth-string tail back, Bobby Martin, for its only effective drive and score mid way of the third quarter. With the 5 foot 10, 100 = pound junior running and pass ing with authority, the Vol unteers drove 81 yards to a touchdown, which was scored on a 6-yard pass from Morton to Jerry EnSley. 1t was an especially disheartening setback for the Tennesscans, off to their worst start in modern history. Tennessee, inept and bungling most of the day, was no match for the tough Alabama team which not only turned up with a sharp, effective offense but gave another great defensive exhibition. The rock of the Crimson’s defense was the 207-pound Lee Roy Jordan. He constantly smashed through to nail Ten. nessee ball-carriers before they could get started.
