OsfOnCOIIeqe TOpsBU, 1O-7, Crump Stars BOSTON, Nov. 18 CAP)- Boston College defeated cross town rival Boston University, t10–7. today on a fourth-pe field goal by Lou Kirouac and the brilliant play Of Harry (The Horse) Crump. Crump nailed down the tor rid football battle on the final play of the game when he deflected Jackie Farland’s pass to Teammate Joe Sikorski for the interception which stopped a final bid. Fullback Crump had powered the favored Eagles to the Ter rier s from where Kirouac, who had missed two earlier tries, booted the decisive 23-yard field goal at $40. Crump broke loose inside left tackle for “a yards to score in the opening minutes, and pounded out nearly 100 yards rushing. On the next play after the kickoff Boston University tied the score on a perfectly executed 63-yard pass play from Jackie Farland to Brother Dick. That’s how matters stood until the field goal. Crump was the man who spoiled the Terrier passing at tack in the second half after BU had completed seven to 10 tosses before intermission. Crump intercepted two passes and saved two more scores with crucial plays. Crump was the unanimous pick for the Harry Agganis Award as outstanding perform er in this game for the second successive year. His two touch downs beat BU, 23-l4, last season. This hard-fought Terrier finale was punctuated by dis turbances in the stands and the halftime assault on the BU drum major by a fan. The two exchanged blows until the latter put his tormentor to flight with a savage thrust Of the baton. BOSTON coLLEoE- I 9 9 so
