  ~ POINTS IN QUARTER Fast Columbia Team Routs Brown, 500 PROVIDENCE, r. l.. Sept 80 (APl. - Speedy Columbia, considered to have its best football team in many years, struck for % points in the first quarter today in routing Brown, 500, in an Ivy League game. Columbia got all the games few breaks and took full advantage of them. Early in the first period with the ball on the Brown %, the Bruins Ray Barry purted. The Columbia line poured in on the Brown back who was only 10 yards from the scrimmage line. He kicked into a still southerly breeze and the ball wound up back on the Brown 19. -Four plays later Tom Haggerty. souirming out of the grasp of a pair of defenders, went four yards for the first of Columbias seven touchdowns. Haggerty scored another in that first period five yards around right end. Cuss Warren also scored a pair in the first period. The others we’re regis tered by Center Lee Black who rumbled 26 yards with a blocked kick in the third quarter, Fred Mundorff, and End Con Drotos with a pass from Len DiFiore.
