SoOners Back On TopinA.P. Football Poll There was something vaguely familiar about the weekly Associated Press college football poll today. And 1t doesn’t take lone to figure 1t out. Oklahoma is in the No. l spot a place it has held many weeks the past few years, and where it finished twice in the last three years. Last year it was Auburn’s unbeAten team which wound up national champion. The sports writer’s and the sportscasters participating in the poll gave the rampaging Sooners Sc first-place votes and 1887 total points on the strength of their 47-l4 romp over West Virginia. Buckeyes Drop to Third Ohio State, No. a week ago before playing a game, dropped to third place. The voters pos sibly were a little shaken by the narrow 1920 margin which the Buckeyes won over South ern Methodist. Auburn, a 1870 victor over Tennessee, took over the No. 2 spot. Three new teams were voted into the top 10, displacing Texas christian, Pittsburgh and Washington State. The new corners are Iowa, victor over a highly touted Texas Christian team; Wisconsin, an impressive victor over Miami. and Glenn son, winner over already beaten North Carolina. The voters concentrated most Of their flrst-place ballot on four teams. In addition to Oklahoma’s Sc, Auburn got So for the top spot, Ohio State % and Iowa Is. In all. IL teams received one or more first-place votes. Spartans Still Fourth The only team to hold the same position this week as it did a week ago was Michigan State, No. 4 in both polls. The Spartans beat California Saturday, 32–12. Army moved up from eighth to fifth, Mississippi from ninth to sixth. and Notre Dame dropped from fifth to seventh. Iowa and Clemson made the biggest jumps. Neither was in the top 20 a week ago. And top 10 in this weeks poll, based on 10 points for a flrst-place vote, nine for second, etc. First-place votes in paren-
