    | NAVY | WEN Princeton Breaks, Two Stands at Goal Beat Rutgers, 1913 PRINCETON, N. j. Sept. 25.- Two goal-line stands and a good dash of luck enabled Princeton to score 1913 victory today over an in-and-out Rutgers team in the opening game of the season for both schools. Neither team showed a crowd Of $4,000 anything like a top flight game, but both had backs who turned in sparkling plays, Royce Flippin for Princeton and Angelo Iannucci for Rutgers. Flippin was the Princeton team in the first period as his run ming, passing and kicking set up the first touchdown. Flippin ran five yards for the score after a march that began when he ran the opening kickoff back 3S yards. Flippin also figured in the first Rutgers score wnen one of his punts was blocked. The ball rolled beyond the end zone for a safety. Had it been downed in the end zone it would have been a Rutgers touchdown. Princeton added three points on field goal from the 7 by F’ullback Dick Martin in the Sec ond period that was marked by general ineptness by Rutgers and old-fashioned orthodox running and line e-crashing by the Tigers. Iannucci brought Rutgers back into the game late in the second period when he found he could turn Princeton’s ends. The Rutgers touchdown came in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter after Substitute Back Robert Kelly fumbled and Ron aid Mastrolia. picked up the ball and ran it over. Princeton 7 3 0 O-1O pin. nversion-Martin. Field goal Martin. Rutgers scoring: Touchdown Mastrolia. Safety – Flippin’s blocked punt rolled out Of end zone.
