Wildcats Win First Over Tennessee In 18 Years, 27–21 LEXINGTON, KY, Nov. 21.- Bob Hardy, a babe in arms the last time Kentucky defeated Tennessee, engineered the Wild cats to a 27–21 victory today, their first in 18 years over the Volunteers. The win, attained in a see-saw thriller, kept Kentucky hot in the running for a post-Season bowl bid. The clinching touchdown came on Ralph Paolone’s 25-yard gall lop with 7 minutes to play. Wade Takes to Air. TenresSee’S Jimmy Wade, stopped cold on the ground, took to the air for three key plays that produced scores and seemed for a while destined to keep the Vols moving in a streak which had held Kentucky winless in the series since 1885. TIE Wildcats had the guns to come from behind twice, how ever, and stretched their 1853 comeback streak to seven VIC tories and a tie since losing their first two games. Kentucky built a 1870 lead in the first two periods. Then they watched the Vols click for a score on the last play of the half and go ahead, l4–13, early in the third. After the kickoff, Kentucky went So yards in 10 plays to grab the lead again, 20–14. Needed Break; Got 1t. At the outset of the final period, Wade connected on a 15-yard scoring pass to Dan Sekanovich, and the Vols were out front again, 21–20. The ard-charging Kentuckians got the break they needed when Harry Kirk blocked a Vol punt on the Tennessee 25. On third down, Paolone took a lat eral from Hardy and zig-zagged untouched for the big touch down.
