Stanford Strikes EorIy To Defeat Oregon, 10 PAL ALTO, Calf, Sept. 90 Stanford’s Indians struck early in the first period today, converted the extra point and STAYED of three Oregon scoring bids thereafter to upset the North ern team, TO. A comparatively small crowd of $4,000 saw the game. Stanford Quarterback Bob Garrett pulled a bootleg play for the score after the Indians marched nearly three-fourths of the field. He dashed around his own left end for the last four yards for the touchdown. Gar rett, a left-footed kicker, also converted from placement.
