    |Sophomores Spark Ole Miss 10 22–6 Win Over Kentucky OXFORD, Miss, Sept. 26.-A slippery pair of Mississippi sophomoreS slashed highly-touted Kentucky defense today for two touchdowns that brought Ole Miss 22–6 win. Eagle Day, quarterback. and Fullback Bobby (Slick) McCool knitted through for touchdowns in the second and third periods to push Mississippi ahead in its first Southeastern Conference game. Another sophomore, Houston Patton, added a third score in the final quarter. A safety against Kentucky completed the scoring. McCool, a 195-pound power house, was the Old Miss gun who found the knack of rupturing the Wildcat line at will after passes failed against the Kentuckians. On the other side of the pic ture, big Steve Meilinger, who played at end, halfback, fuliback and quarterback for Kentucky, was dogged by swarm Of MissiSSippi linemen the entire game. Kentucky took the lead in the second quarter when Quarter back Dick Shatto connected with pass to Al Zampino on the goal line. Before the period ended, how ever, McCool made gains of 10, and yards for a Mississippi touchdown. Then Day scored to climax a 60-yard drive early in the third period and Houston Patton went over from the 10 in the final quarter.
