Homer Smith Scores Three Times; Big Red Loses Fifth in Row ITHACA, N Y. Oct. 25.-Fullback Homer Smith, -hurdling junior from Omaha, scored three touchdowns today as Prince tons powerful single-wing ma chine gave Cornell its fifth straight defeat, 27–0. Once again. fumbles plagued Cornell’s sputtering .offense while Princeton drove for a score in each period in complete mastery of it’s old rival. Lefty Bob Unger pitched wobbly, forward to Smith on a Toyard scoring play after six minutes of play Smith dived over center from the one in the second and again in the fourth after George Kovatch recovered a Cornell tumble. ! Turning to its tricky buck lateral series in the third period, Prince ton broke Earl Byrne into the clear for a fine 21-yard scoring run while Cornell chased the wrong man. This was hardly as devastating as last years 53–15 humping by Dick Kazmaier anG Company, but bit was convincing in the statistical department. Princeton rolled up 20 first downs to six and limited the Cornell ground game to a meek 26 yards. The Big Red lost the ball four times on fumbles. cornell – o o q d | Princeton scoring: Touchdowns-H Smith (3). Byrne. Conversions-Newel
