Rutgers Ground Drive Beats | Lafayette, 31–7 NEW BRUNSWICK, N. j., Nov. 11.-Rutgers rallied in the sec ond quarter today to brush aside once-powerful Lafayette 31–7, with a potent ground attack featured by Right Halfback Bob ID’Amato’s three touchdowns. A shivering crowd of only 5000 Homecoming fans saw Rutgers blast it’s way 800 yards on land while holding the hapless Leopards to scant IL yards. The victory was Rutgers sixth straight over its ancient Middle Three rival and fourth of the season against three losses. Lafayette has won one Of seven. Lafayette opened the scoring with a surprise touchdown after four and half minutes of play but quickly fell behind in the second quarter when Rutgers hit pay dirt three times to overcome 7–6 deficit. Guard Don Gold set up the LeopardS’ first and last tally by intercepting a DETECTED Walt LaPrarie aerial on Rutgers “a. Quarterback Bob Herbruck bowled his way through the middle for the score and Guard John Bonisese converted.
