  Michigan State Speed Earns II 10 0 Victory Over Hefty Minnesota EAST LANSING, Mich, Nov. ii. Michigan States smooth-working Spartans tossed and twirled their way to a 27–⁠0 football vic tory here today over stubborn Minnesota eleven. The Spartans, playing their last home game of the year before a near capacity crowd Of 47,46l, scored in every quarter. Four backs, led by the sensational Sonny Grandelius. divided the honors. Although the Gophers’ linemen outweighed the Spartans by as much as 20 pounds per man. they never could produce a real scoring threat. Their own backs were snagged repeatedly by the faster Michigan State line. paced by Tackle Deane Thomas. The Minnesota standout was Kern Klefkaas. second string left halfback, who single = handedly drove from. his own 10 to the Michigan State 80 in the final quarter but that hope sputtered out on fourth down. The Michigan State scorers were Grandelius. Quarterback AL Do row, Fullback lie Roy Crane, and Right Halfback Vince Pisano. Bob Carey, big end. made three of four conversion attempts. Grandelius, who now has rolled to $50 yards in 144 attempts, made his marker from 10 yards out. It gave him season total of 72 points, tying the school record set by George GIlerre in 1Qd7
