  Washington Defeats Oregon State, 35–⁠6, After Sluggish Start PORTLAND. Ore. Oct. IA. - Oregon State gave Washington a first period scare, but hustling Hugh McElhenny rallied his team and Washington eventually rolled to a 1915 victory. The Oregon State line was out charging Washington and it looked like a lost cause until Nc Elhenny personally conducted his team to two touchdowns, one on an unescorted 58-yard run. He added a third touchdown as the second half opened and that brought his team to life. For the first time in the game, Washington began pushing Oregon State around, and the Huskies added two more touchdowns before the third quarter ended. Reserves took over in the fourth period. A soft rain fell through most of the game and Washington began fumbling at the outset. Oregon State got three early scoring chances through these fumbles. but fumbled two of them away. They unleashed a 65-yard / touchdown march before the first quarter ended. In the opening seconds of the second quarter. McElhenny broke through tackle, spun from the arms of two would-be tacklers, and raced So yards to a touchdown. Jim Rosenzweig, the Huskies’ place-kicking specialist, added the first of five conversions.
