Hogon Is Big Gun | As South carolina | Blasts Clemson COLUMBIA, S. c., Oct. 2l.- An old South Carolina football hero was back in business at the old stand today. Harold “Bo” Hagan, one Of the slickest T-formation quarterbacks in the Southern Conference when he is right. really had it yesterday as he ran and passed his Gamecock mates to a. rousing 27–13 upset victory over Clemson. Hagan, kept in the shadows of comparative obscurity the past two years by a bad knee, staged one of his greatest exhibitions to give a record State Fair crowd Of $4,000 a thrill it will not forget in a hurry. Clemson, living up to its pregame role Of slight favorite in the 47th renewal of this bitter rivalry, had ground out a 1870 lead early in the second period when Hagan wheeled into acton. He got his team back into the ball game in a hurry. He sneaked over from the 3 for the first score and directed his mates to a 1913 tie at half time. Tailback Steve Wadiak plunging over from the 2. After a scoreless third period, Hagan put the Gamecocks ahead with a 40-yard pitch to End Jim Pinkerton early in the final quarter and later sneaked over again from the 2 to nail it down.
