Justice and Weiner Provide Big Punch In Tar Heel Triumph By the Asseeiofsd Press CHAPEL HILL, N. c., Oct. L. North Carolina’s football forces landed their Sunday punches All-America Tailback Charley JUS tice and End Art Weiner-three times today for a 21–14 victory over Georgia. 1t was Weiner who supplied the finishing blow to the Georgians. It came just after the Bulldogs had stunned the crowd of $4,000 in Kenan Stadium by pulling into 14–14 tie. with two minutes and 20 seconds to 60. on Halfback Eli Maracich’s 88-yard touchdown run with a punt and End Bob Wal ston’s conversion. North Carolina shook off the sting Of that and moved right back. Sophomore Tailback Skeet Hesmer ran the Georgia KICKOFF from his IS to the 81. Hesmer failed on two passes, but Justice picked up the reins and connected with Fullback Billy Hayes on . screen pass for 80 yards to the Georgia 80. Weiner Scores Clincher. On the next play, Hayes shot a pass to Weiner, who caught the ball at the 20, wriggled away from Maracich and breezed over with the deciding touchdown. Tackle Able Williams added the third of his three tries for extra points. Up until Maracich dashed through the whole North Carolina team on his long trip to Georgia’s second touchdown, Justice and his Tarheel mates had kept the game we’ll in control. They stopped two Georgia threats in the second period-one at their and another at their 12-and cranked up their own scoring machinery for a pair OF touchdowns and q 40 lead. Weiner scored the first Of these, on a pass from Justice that COW cred eight yards, and Justice him self choo-chooed IS yards for the second. Georgia’s first touchdown came On a tremendous pass from Quarterback Ray Prospect to Walston. The play was good for so yards. Walston kicked the point. Justice the Workhorse. It was a case of just too much Justice and Weiner for the Georgians, and it takes only peek at the individual statistics to show why. The 165-pound Justice was the workhorse of the Tar Heel attack. He threw IA passes and completed nine for a total Of lis yards; he carried the ball 81 times for net of IS yards, and punted II times for an average of 45.9 yards. One of those punts-good for so yards pulled the Tar Heels out OF a bad situation that had left them perched on their own 1-yard line. On North Carolina’s first scoring march, Justice handled the bali on five of the six plays it took; on the second, he handled the ball on 10 of 13 plays. At one stretch, he completed seven sue cessive passes. Weiner caught six passes for a total of 103 yards-and don’t for get his two touchdowns. In additon, the hawk-nosed end was a strong boy in the Tar Heels defense. Left ends-walstom. Chandler. McManus. Left suards-Love. Greer. oreenway. Bur- Risht suardsNPayns, Pope. Madray.
