  Oregon Defeats Oregon State 10 to 0 in Mud CORVALLIS, Ore, Nov. 20.-Twoinch ooze nearly stopped the Oregon Ducks Rose Bowl drive, but they finally staged two drives over a stubborn Oregon State team to produce 100 victory here today. 1t was the seventh straight Coast Conference win for the Ducks. whose hopes Of going to the Rose Bowl now rest on a vote of conference schools. Their rivals for the bowl-the California Bears-ended the season with six conference wins. Oregon produced a touchdown in the second quarter and the big Ore gon line kept the staters completely subdued. Johnny Mckay. Oregon’s fleet left halfback, finally came up with what was a long run for the day: Is yards without slipping into the muck. The run came at the end Of a 40-yard drive for Oregon’s touch down two minutes before the half ended. Scrubbed dry between halves, the ducks came right back at the start o fthe third period to add a field goal.

But all is not so clear in the Pacific Coast conference where Oregon and California both wound up their schedules today unbeaten in the coast cir cult. California squeezed past Stanford, 7 to 6, and Oregon blanked Oregon State, 10 to 0. California, which also is unbeaten- outside the circuit, has five loop wins, Oregon has six. How ever, Oregon lost to Michigan, IA to 0. Oklahoma and Southern Met odist also clinched conference titles although the Texas Mus tangs still can be tied for the laurels in the Southwest circuit. Southern Methodist again wait ed until late in the game to subdue Baylor, 13 to 6, bat Okla homa started from the kickoff to murder Kansas, so to 7. William & Mary was the major school to accept a bowl bid. The Virginians drubbed North Carolina State, 26 to 6, and will appear in the Delta Bowl at Memphis on Jan. /. Clemson, another Southern Conference power, remained unbeaten with a AZ to 0 conquest of Duquesne and North Carolina stopped Duke, 20 to 0. Each of the victors is bowl possibility.
