$4,000 Watch Tulane Passes Bring Victory Over Alabama, 21–14 NEW OR LEA N S, Sept. 25.- Tulane’s Green Wave upset Ala pama’s Crimson tide 21–14 today thanks mainly to the passing OF Quarterback Joe Ernst and to most of the breaks. A poor Alabama punt started Tulane to one touch down. Tulane drove 7s yards in nine plays for the opening touchdown in the second period, Bobby Jones, sophomore left half. started the march with a 17-yard end run and wound it up with 7-yard off tackle slice. A tumble recovery on the Ala bama 80 gave Tulane its next chance in the third period. Ed Price cir cled left end for the last four yards. A few minutes later Tulane got the ball on ‘Bamas 81 through a bad punt, and Ernst tossed 20 yards to End Dick Sheffield on the goal line. Alabama came back with a g. yard scoring march, spanked by Ed Whites passes and climaxed by Tom Calvins four-yard touchdown plunge through the middle.
