THE LATEST EXPERIMENTATION” YALE BEATS WESLEYAN. An Exciting Game of fFOotbaH-SpIen- did Work by Terry-InjurIes to Ber- trOm and Peters. The Yale football team met the Wesleyan eleven at the athletic grounds yesterday at 3 p. m. There was strong wind from the west. Wesleyan won the toss and chose the west goal with the wind trong in their fla vor. In three minutes from the kick off Terry of Yale made fine run and touch down. He kicked the goal. Soon Terry made another run the whole length of the field and won another touchdown from which Richards kicked the second goal. For some time after this there was slow work with the ball near to Wesleyan’s goal, and after some fumbiing Wesleyan was obliged to make a safety touchdown. Yale soon after made a next trial for goal also failed and time was called before more could be scored, leaving the score at the end of first inning g to OSF In the second inning s touchdown was made at the beginning, but Bertron was hurt and carried off the field In less than two minutes Peters was hurt in the head and was obliged to stop playing. Flanders made neat touchdown, but the trial for goal failed. Bayen made good run and touchdown from which Ferry kicked the goal. Terry also made good drop kick, which was followed up to advantage and Wesleyan had to make another safety touchdown In the last part of the game Terry made another fine run and made touchdown and goal, making the score 46 to 0. The Wesleyan team played strong game for them. Especially Sake did good work. On Yale’s side Terry seemed to be the man doing the work, as af- most all the score was made by him. The show of spirit and grit usually given by the Yale team was wholly lacking, and the score was not as high as was expected.
