LAFAYETTE, Ind, Sept. 21.- Purdue’s footballers were pushed all the way today to defeat a savage tackling Miami University team from oxford, Ohio, 13 to 7. 1t was an expensive victory for the Boilermakers with Righthahback Bob (Stormy) Pfohl carried of the field with a broken bone in his foot. A crowd of $4,000 saw the light, but rangy Miami line push the heavy Boilermakers all over the field in the first quarter. Fullback Bill Johnston plunged for the Red skins touchdown from one foot out. Bob Demoss put Purdue back into the game in the last two minutes of the second quarter, passing 1S yards to Left-end Bob Heck for the tally. With the Old Colds ground at tack largely begged down against the alert Ohioans, Demoss was the major difference between the teams.
