|0Id Liners See Hope For Triumph Over West Virginia Marylands football team, after two defeats, Is looking hopefully toward a victory over West VAR ginia in the game Saturday night in Byrd Stadium at College Park. It will be = revenge effort, as the Mountaineers won In the mud ut Morgantown last season, Ga. West Virginia’s record, however, makes the going look plenty tough for the Old Liners. While Mary land has been blanked by Hamp- Sydney, 1910, and Wake Forest, 500, the Mountaineers have, won one Of three games. They were licked by Pitt, 26–1a and Virginia, 24–6. but in between beat Case, 1915. This makes It appear that the Old Liners will have to get their offense going In . much improved fashion II they are to break the ice. Last season’Ss game at Morgan town was nip-and-tuck affair, each making four first downs, with the breaks netting all points. A Mary land tumble went through the air into the hands Of End Pat Pike of the Mountaineers, who ran IS yards to score. Maryland’s 2 points came on a safety when Kenny Freyer OF West Virginia fell on fumbled pass back of his goal.
