  Here’s The Dope On Yale’s New Freshman Varsity Stars as a freshman. He is enlisted in Vel. Naval Reserve. After reporting to freshman coach Reg Root. Pickett, early earned, a place on the team and was instrumental in the Yale victories over Exeter and Andover. Root recommended the young full back to head coach Odell and Bob found himself on the varsity. He got in his first game at fullback against Dartmouth and with fellow freshman Stan Weiner, led the Ellis to their first Ivy League victory in two years, beating the Indians, 17–⁠7. Bob’s hard driving won the acclaim of the crowd as he pulled over for Yale’s last touchdown.   YALE COMES BACK, BEATS DARTMOUTH NEW HAVEN, Conn, Oct. 26.- The football fortunes of Yale came surging back on high tide last saturday afternoon as the Ellis rar roughshod over Dartmouth to score a F to 2 victory with sur prising ease and furnished both ecstasy and excitement for all old Blues.
