the ASSOClate 0 Press. PITTSBURGH. Oct. 21.-Doleful grid coaches in their Monday morn ing gloominess needn’t look for any cheer among Pittsburgh football fans. Debated Carnegie Techs most decisive defeat in its history-a Clio beating at the hands Of Notre Dame-was looked upon as another step in the direction of the Tartans getting off the big time. De-emphasized Pitt seemed inept against capable Fordham outfit that claimed 24–12 triumph dur Ing a snoWstorm. AS If the collegiate downfall wasn’t enough, Art Rooney’s Pittsburgh pro SteelerS took 1910 licking from the New York Giants to drop their fourth straight decision. And Rooney had thought this was his year for a title bid. Of the losers, Duquesne came out with the best showing, if defeat can be CLOSED over The Bluffmen are on the rise just as Tech is on the downgrade and should get back into winning stride this week at the eXpense of Manhattan.
