FEATURED IN harvard WIN Ed. Buckley Figures Directly in Scoring One-Third of Points Against Chicago. Edward Buckley, former Memorial high school athlete and son of Athletic Director Edward T. Buckley, made a very fine start at putting his home city and himself in the national football picture, Saturday afternoon. Buckley, holding down a halfback position during most of the second half for Harvard in game with the Uni versity of Chicago on Stagg field, was directly responsible for 10 of his teams points. The Crimson eleven defeated the Maroons, Clio. A sophomore at Harvard, Buckley substituted for Francis Lee, 172-pound flash from Connecticut, in the third quarter, tossed a pass to Kelly, right end, on the goal line for Harvard’s sixth touchdown. In the fourth quarter he heaved another pass to Jimmy Devine, SUBJ Stitute end, who scored. | A short time later he chalked up the final points by dashing through right tackle from the 12-yard line to score A drop kick for point after touchdown was also credited to him. Buckley, who won numerals in foot ball, basketball and baseball as a fresh. man, apparently will have considerable more to do for his alma mater than thu usual watch and learn” role in which most second-year players are placed. No doubt Coach Dick Harlow O the Maroons noted well the performanc, of young Buckley who took such grea part in scoring one-third of the tota points for the club. Buckley also saw action in tn, seasons opener the week before agains Bates, which Harvard took, 300, in /; game played at Cambridge.
