HARVARD TUMBLE AIDS DARTMOUTH Leads to Decisive Score as Indians Whip Gritty Crimson, 1877. by tfle ASSOCIATED SIeSS. CAMBRIDGE, Mass, Oct. o. Dartmouth’s powerful and speedy football Indians clicked off their 20th game without loss since 1885 by cashing two of their three scoring chances against hard-fighting Harward team for 1877 decision today before an almost capacity crowd Of $1,000. After being held in check during most of the first half. the Indians returned to the conflict and marched the kickoff IS yards, the brilliant Colby Howe plunging from the 2-yard line. Their winning counter, however, resulted from Harvard’s only tumble, on its 20-yard line in the fourth period. When it tried to rush from the 20, the Crimson backfield made its bobble. The vigilant Charley Miller dove as Frank Foley and Joe Gardella missed connections on spinner. Joe Cot tone reversed for II yards to Har- Yards 8, where the Indians begged three plays before their outstanding all-America candidate. Capt. Bob Macleod, crashed over for the deciding points. Harvard’s tally followed closely, for Frank Foley ran back Bomber Bill Hutchinson’s kickoff Is yards and al ternated with Fullback Ben Smith in rushes to their 35. There Foley COM pleted three long passes to Smith, Capt Bobby Green and Torbie Mac Donald, to wipe out 81 yards and put the Crimson knocking at the Indians door from their 3-yard line. Smith tried two plunges before he scored from that short distance.
