HELD THE TIGERS DOWN. Princeton Scored Only Twelve on Virginia University, The Tigers defeated Virginia yesterday at Princeton by a score of II to 0 in game that was little more tnan practice match, and almost free from exciting feat ures- In the first half Princeton had things its own way, and straight foot ball car ried Black over Virginia’s goal twice The southerners’ line was strong as any the Tigers have faced this year, and although Virginia broke through several times, and on three occasions held the Tigers for downs, the work of Princeton’s center men, tackles and ends far ahead of anything put up in previous games. The NirginlanS in the first half were moved down like ninepins, and gained not a yard on the Tigers. But they were a plucky lot, and in the second half they i’m proved wonderfully and spoiled a number of Princetons carefully calculated plays. When they carried the ball in the latter half they sometimes gained as many as five yards through Princeton’s line at one
