~ AMBRIDGE, Mass, October S. -Harvard’s semi-developed foot bal, which appeared at – least q month behind any Of its major rivals, launched Dick Harlows coaching career at the stadium today by drubbing Springfield’s weak eleven, 20 to 0. The crowd Of 10000 gathered for this opener saw q dozen Harvard backs in action, but only one Of them. Johnny Adzigian, o non-starter, was capable Of gaining ground consistent ly. Despite some ragged interference, he raced 36 yards for the initial touchdown, punched out II more to put over the second, and then accounted for the third with a two yard buck. The two extra points were earned by Adzigian’s placements. Springfield Makes Late Try. THE action decidedly was onesided until the final period, when Springfield’s only scoring chance vauished when one Of its passes was in tercepted on Harvard’s 10-yard lima Its most effective defense gestures were made by Sven Rosengren, who performed in spectacular fashion at right tackle, and Wrenn Huston, who prevented Harvard from overcrowding the gymnast many times with his magnificent punting.
