While this was in progress, Stan ford’s mentor, Pop” Warner, ane rlost of the regulars were across the bay in Berkeley watching Cal ifornia down a determined Idaho eleven, 21–6. Pop returned home wrinkled his aging brow ant gloomily announced that his thrice beaten eleven would be decided under dogs against the Colder Bears this week. The Bears found Idaho hardl! “breather.” Outweighed and out numbered in reserve strength. the Vandals staged a praiseworthy defenSive and one by one the Cali fornia’s regulars were called tc duty to avert an embarrassing fin al score for Bill Ingram’s charges In a last desperate effort to reg lister a third touchdown, ingram sent in an entire new team in thu fourth period.
