Last week we commented on the lost art of drop kicking and the number of games that are won and lost for failure to score the point after touchdown. Saturday Harvard beat Dartmouth and Georgia beat New York University by a lone point. the score be- ing 7–6 in both instances. Good drop kickers are scarce in football circles we can only infer. Nine times out of ten the kick for goal is by placement. Here’s chance for some enterprising youngster to make the grade.

UNTARN|SHED. RECORD IS GEORGIA AIM NEW YORK, NOV. 12.-Comparsons often are as out of line as onions in a ballroom, but fans who pick their football favorites via the comparative score method can’t be bothered about social edicts. So today they turned their eyes on the Georgia Tulane battle. which will rock the regions of Athens, Ga, this Saturday. To the comparative-Score addiets this is the most important game of the week. Searching for way to figure out how Notre Dame might be counted out Of another national gridiron title. some folks figure direct line to a successful quest lies in the Tulane Georgia fight. This all comes about because the Athens eleven, next to South Bends pseudo Irish, are the most rambling eleven of all the touring outfits. This season the Geor- -gians bounded up to historic New Haven and Socked Yale for q 26-to-T defeat. Then, after storing away safely such home-Section rivals as North Carolina, Wander. bilt and Florida. they invaded New York and wilted Chick Nee hans Violets, of New York Uni versity, 7 to 6. Big eff” Prevails If they can get past Tulane this week-we don’t think they can-they will ride into Los An geles on December II to play Southern California with one Of the fanciest untarnished states in the nation. Prior to their Cali fornia invasion the Southerners play Georgia Tech and Alabama Poly but these should prove little more than tuning-up games. It could come about that Dart mouth will beat Cornell this week and later in the season Yale will trip up Harvard and little would be needed to make Georgia look better than the East’s best. It also is possible Howard Jones Los Angeles Trojans will beat Notre Dame in the only Irish upset of 1881. Since little st. Mary’s. OF Oakland, defeated the TrojanS only to taste gloom yes terday at the hands of California. Los Angeles branch, both the Oakland eleven and Southern California will have questionable claims on a comparative score basis to the country’s title, Shoulc Jones powerful outfit smash down both Georgia and Notr’ Dame. Barely NOSed Out But alas and alack! It VIZ easy enough to vision Georgia an unbeatable team until la Saturday. They were outplayt here by New York Universe and on a single play managed snatch victory. The Violet eleven. crushed oregon, a team that Southe California smothered So to 0, d. not rate as national leader. And that brings us down Tulane. Tulane just happens to M defeated Mississippi, Texas and NJ, Spring Hill, Vanderb Georgia Tech, Mississippi A. M. and Auburn. The Louisa eleven has rolled up a total ZIG points and has only had score made against it. Unless Georgia plays bet than against New York Univ sity, Tulane should win. And, view of what the Trojans m or may not do to Notre Dal and Georgia, it seems we mig have started out by declarll we’ve got a twodollar bill Tuls1 lands mighty near the top WHIT the moleskins once again shelf the mothballs.
