  Wisconsin and Ohio State Spring Uses BY Defeating Purdue ILLINOIS 800 VICTOR Evans 47-Yard Run to Touchdown Is Feature Of Win Over Bradley. CHAMPAIGN, Ill, October II [P.- Illinois subdued an unlucky but fight ing Bradley Tech foot ball squad here today, 20 to 0, before $1,000 spectators. A spectacular run by John Evans, Dayton, Ohio, for Al yards and a touch down in the final quarter, provided the biggest thrill of the day. The other Illini touchdowns were scored by Gil Berry and Ed Snavely. Herman Walser and Bob Horsley contributed the extra points with place kicks.

  Unexpected defeats for Michigan and Purdue has left Northwestern its greatest chance in Big Ten his tory to win the title outright. After the Ohio State game, Northwestern plays Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana and Iowa, considered the four weak est teams in the conference. Big Comeback for Ohio Michigan met defeat for the first time in fifteen games. Ohio States 20–⁠7 triumph over Michigan is all the more amazing when it. is considered the Buckeyes bounded back from a 1921 defeat at the hands of Vanderbilt week previous. Carl Cramer, sophomore quarter back phenom, directed the Buckeyes to victory with runs, passes and plunges. A dazzling first-period attack that Melted three touchdowns enabled Wisconsin to turn back the highly favored Purdue eleven, 21–⁠14. Purdue came back and scored two touchdownS in the third period, but cOulQ not snake the Badgers loose from their lead Indiana Held Even Making the second week of the Big Ten season a complete day of upSets, Iowa’S crippled team, badly beaten by Pittsburgh and Texas A. and M, fought Indiana to score less tie. The Big Ten, which has Jared badly in intersectional rivalry this season, divided its two intersection al games.
