Middletown, Conn, oct. 1T.-There was fine exhibition OF football on the campus this afternoon bet tween Wesleyan ana Am herst, the play beng the most brilliant enherc FOR M any Seasons. Amherst kicked off. Wesleyan caught the ball, gradually working it back to the center. Skiilrul running and sharp tackling gave Wesleyan gains around Amnersu’s leIt end and kay mond secured a touchdown and kicked a goal. Time, five minutes. Despite Amherst’s sharp pla ying through Wesleyan’s center she failed to gain Raymond. for Wesleyan kicked for forty va rds, and when the half ended, Amherst had the ball on her forty-yard line Score, Wesleyan, 8; Amh erst. o. In the second half Wesleyan forced the playing in Amherst’s territory, success fully blocking all Amherst’s efforts to advance the ball over her line. Sharp pla V confined the ban most of the time within ten yards of AmherSt’s goal. When time was called the ball was two and one half yards from the goal.
