  VICTORY FOR WESLEYAN. AMHERST DEFEATED BY SCORE OF Is TO Il Amherst. Mass. Nov. 23-Wesleyan defeated Am herst on Pratt Field this afternoon in hard fought game. I5 H. thus securing second place in the tri-college league The two eevens were evenly matched. and the result sn doubt until the last few minutes OF play. The first half ended with one touchdown TO the credit OF each team. and each scored again after the second half began The score then stood II to 10 in favor of Amherst and remained so for many minutes while the ball went up and down the field gem orally in Wesleyan’s possession. AZ last Amherst held her 3-yard line but the punt went out of bounds and a fierce rush by Nc Donald carried the ball across the goal line for the deciding touchdown Both elevens showed themselves much stronger the offensive than in withstandtng each others attacks Weseyans gains were short for the most part. rarely exceed ing ten yards She relied almost entirely plunges into the line and revolving plays tackle. Amherst on the contrary; made most OF her gains al end with occasional straight drive on guard or tackle Crook made the longest run OF the day twenty-five yards on a delayed pass left end.
