Utah Shows Surprising Reversal Of Form to Clinch Rocky Mountain TEXAS LONGHORNS WIN Drake Takes 6 to O Win from Creighton; Tech Crushes Auburn Machine TEXAS LONGHORNS WIN New York, Nov. 3O.-(AP)-Five of the country’s seven major football championships have been decided. Only the east and south still are in the doubtful stage and the chances are that both will remain that way even after all the returns are in. Illinois captured the western conference title last Saturday on the same day that southern California won the crown on the Pacific coast but the other three conference win ners waited until Thanksgiving day to make their titles clear. A driving snowstorm at Lincoln, Neb., made good football next to i’m possible but the Cornhuskers of the University Of Nebraska took adj vantage Of what breaks there were to score an to 0 victory over the Kansas Aggies and walk away with the Big Six” championship. The Redskins had held the lead all season but gave their supporters many an anxious moment in the last two weeks when they were tied by Creighton and Brigham Young. Forty-five thousand persons, the largest crowd that ever saw a foot ball game in Texas, watched the Texas University Longhorns win the Southwestern conference champion ship by defeating their old rivals, Texas A. and NJ, 10 to O. A touchdown scored in the closing minutes Of play gave Drake a 60 triumph over Creighton and the title in the reorganized Missouri Valley conference. New York University’s crushing defeat by the Oregon Aggies mud died up the championship situation in the east more than ever, but in the southern conference only Georgia Tech and Florida are left in q position to broadcast any loud titular claims. Tech crushed Auburn. 81 to 0 while Florida was rolling I’D a 60 to 6 tally on Washington and Lee. These two might teams only of the ~ southern conference members have met neither defeat nor tie.
