n II 1NNESOTA, rated one OF Cne I’M most formidable teams in the G country, picked as Big Ten champions, could get no better than a 14–14 tie with Indiana, previously defeated by Chicago. Despite the admitted strength of Iowa Staet, Bob zuppke’S Illinois eleven was generally picked to win by at least two touchdowns. The Illini we’re fortunate to get a 1912 tie. Purdue, after it’s 1910 victory over Harvard, was favored to beat Chi cago but went down to defeat by a one-point margin, 7–6. The experts we’re about equally divided between Ohio State and Northwestern, the former probably being slight favorite, yet North western showed a rather decided SUI periority, to win, 1913.
