MICHIGAN DEFEATS WISCONSIN, 81 TO 0. ANN ARBOR, Mich, Nov. 6.--(A9-- Michigan, playing her last game on Ferry field, where so much football history has been written, gave Wis consin a 81 to 0 drubbing today and made positive answer to Coach Yost’s recent query: Did you ever notice what happened to the opposition the week after Michigan met a reverse” Tt was the worst defeat ever admin istered to a Badger eleven by Michi-gan. Il was accomplished by team play marred only by tumble which was recovered, and by a muffed pass. The old Friedman to Oosterbaan combination was working again, augmented by an air drive in which Friedman received and Gilbert tossed. Wisconsin presented defense that held through out the first period and was strong against line plays. When Friedman began passing, however, Wisconsin’s defense showed weakness. Oosterbaan was the Oosterbaan of a year ago, snaring passes on his finger ends. Rose, a new halfback, stood out on the Wisconsin team, putting the Michigan stands on edge with excellent passing and carrying the ball for consistent gains. 1t was Gilberts superior punting that put Michigan in position for her first score. The first period was a punting contest with Gilbert out-kicking Bar mum, although the wind was in his face. The steady returning of punts continued into the second period, fl nally putting the ball in Michigan’s possession on the Wisconsin % yard line, and Friedman place-kicked a goal Michigan also scored two touchdowns in this period Barnum’s tumble gave Michigan the ball on the Wisconsin 2S yard line. Two passes put, the ball in the shadow of the goal and Weber went over. The other touchdown was made by OOsterbaan on a pass from Friedman. Hoffman, who played most of the game at Molenda’s half, figured in the next score, alternating with Gilbert in two end runs that netted % yards. Weber crashed through the line for the few remaining yards. @ The Michigan regulars were taken out in the final period after Friedman had caught a short pass and ducked his way over for a touchdown. The relief crew surprised everybody by making the fastest touchdown of the game.
