game expected with Elon. The Blue and Gray substitutes ran wild and piled up a big score. The game was valuable to Georgetown in that the second string men got a needed opportunity to show their wares. George Washington failed to win from William and Mary. The latter probably was a stronger team against the Hatchetites than for some time due to the return of the quarterback, MatSu. A foot ball game won by a score of 2 to 0 is unusual, yet two such resuits were recorded in big games in the South Saturday. Alabama barely won from Sewanee by that count and Auburn counted against Tulane by the same margin. The victory of Auburn over Tulane was not unexpected, as both teams were considered to be about on a par, but the show. ing of Sewanee against Alabama was certainly surprising. 1t is a fact that no school in the country put out better foot ball teams than Sewanee, considering the size OF the student body. Sewanee has only 300 students, or thereabouts, but has managed for years to develop teams to stay in close competition with the larger institutions in the South.
