BROWN EASILY WINS OVER COLBY University football team today smut out the Colby college eleven, S6 to D. in a game in which much ordinary football was mixed with little brilliancy on the part of both teams Rain during the night and most OF the day left the field in anything but good condition and this in part eXplains the general looseness of the contest. A small crowd huddled in the big new concrete stand to watch the battle in the mud. Brown, heav- Ter than its scrappy Maine opponent, displayed a superior brand or loot ball than it howed a week ago IN the opening contest with Rhode Is land State. The Maine eleven was IN the fight every minute and in the second quarter came near to .out1 playing the Bear. Perhaps the best of all linesmen in the game and by far the outstanding player for Colby was O’Donel, 16O pound center. He had his hands on most of the Brown backs when they were brought to the ground. In the backfield Drummond and johnson were the shining lights for Colby. Superior weight and an evident superior set of players combined with the individual work of Keefer and Dixon brought the victory to Brown. Colby did well in the face of the cir cumstances and in defeat earned a few laurels for itself. Keefer made two touchdowns, Edes made two and Dixon one.
