The Bears more than made good their threat, Pennsylvania only being favored with one chance to score. Early in the third period the Penn backfield ripped off gain after gain, and finally had the ball within the very shadows of the California goal. The best that was in Penn was called to the fore in a last gallant effort and on the fourth down the runner was nailed on the 9-inch line. That was PENIS only real chance to score. Cali fornia’s battering rams plowed through time after time for sub. stantial gains. Bob Griffin and John Young were the siege guns In the attack. Captain Rae McGraw, Fields, and Thomas proved the big ground gamers for Penn. Al Leth, Kruez, and Douglass were the other back field players for the Pennsylvanians. They were usually stopped cold in their tracks. PENIS much Wanted aerial attack was noted by it’s absence.
