  BAYLOR DEFEATS RICE INSTITUTE Bears Come From Behind To Down Heisman Team HOUSTON, Texas, Nov. 27.-Coming behind the last period, the Baylor uni versity eleven smashed over touch down and field goal and def ated Rice institute IF to 9 here today. After a hard drive from the field, with Pittman, Coffey and Coates run ming in fine form, Baylor brought the ball near the Owl goal line. Ping Col Her rushed in to substitute for Strick- land and kicked placement goal, giving Baylor the lead by a single point. Later in the period however Coffey ran 25 yards on a hidden ball trick for q touchdown. ... Rice scored it’s only points in the second period. Wood of Rice fumbled pass on the Baylor three-yard line and Baylor resorted to safety. Then, after a series of forward passes, Rice placed the ball near the Baylor line and Smith plunged over,for the touchdown.
