  DR AXE BEATEN IN BIG GAME Missouri Title Snatched From Leaders By Iowa State ANlES. Ia.. Nov. 22.-The Missouri Valley conference football champion shin almost within it’s grasp, the Drake University team stubbed its toe on its final. Iowa College, and went down in defeat 10 to 0 on Ames field here to- day. The Ames victory, their third con ference win and Drake’s only defeat, came in the final quarter by virtue of Il field goal and touchdown. It was the final conference game for each team. Norton and Johnny Behm, Ames left half and quarterback, were the stars of the game. Of the 2S0 yards gained bv AmnS in scrmmage, Norton Behm carried the ball 1SS and his brother GS wards. The sure passing of Roberts, right half was responsible for Il large part of the yardage, however. Even Battle Tho game was evenly played and hard fought during the first three periods, with Drake paving slight edge. Ip the final quarter the Cyclones got thcir powerful offense going and with the bail on Drake’s l9-yard line, Roberts kicked field goal. Taking the bail iu the middle of the field few minutes later Roberts heaved the oval .!2 yards to Norton Behm and on the next play repeated the performance for x yards and Il touchdown. Ames was rcnnlized 100 yards and Drake 20 for unnecessary roughness.
