DRAKE LEADING MISSOURI LOOP Leaders Win Technical Victory Saturday Is Claim KANSAS CITY, Nov. 16.-One more step-victory over Iowa State next Saturday-stands between Drake Uni versity and an undisputed claim to the Missouri Valley conference football championship. The Des Moines eleven by it’s verdict over the Kansas Aggies Saturday re- mains the only undefeated team in the valley and will close the conference season this week. Drakes final game is with Florida University on Thanks giving day. Although the record shows the Kan sas Wildcats outplayed the conference leaders in every department, the game went to the Bulldogs z to 6. Aggie fol- lowers hold that Drake won technical” victory since disputed play gave the Bulldogs their only touch- down. Disputed Punt Drake punted forty-yards from the Bulldog thirty-yard line and Anderson, Aggie quarterback and safety man, was waiting to receive the ball on the hop. It took a freakish rebound, how ever, to Anderson’s right. Lingenfelter, charging down to tackle Anderson, picked up the oval and dashed 20 yards for the touchdown. The umpire ruled Anderson touched the ball before Lingenfelter recovered. Anderson tackled the Drake player, all though after the game he declared he did not touch the ball. Kansas, showing new found power, crushed the invading Oklahoma Soon- CTS, 20 to 0. Washington. which has failed to score in conference game this season, proved an easy victim for Missouri. 35 to o.
